The Forest is our Classroom
We are Gal·la, Sophie and Marta, three Mothers and families of the Vall with similar pedagogical concerns and sensitivities for the environment. In 2022 we set our to plan to make Project Alzina a reality and provide educational solutions to families of the Vall de Llemena.

Our Story
Project Alzina started in Marta’s kitchen during a Happy Morning's meeting. The question of local education was always a topic of conversation. We all lived in a rural location and had children who would need to travel a distance to public school but most importantly we all shared the same desire for our children to enjoy a different style of outdoor education.

After some research we learned about Forest School methodology and projects that were well established across Europe and the UK. The methodology suited our needs perfectly and with Marta & Gal.la already teachers in primary and secondary education it was a logical step to start up our own project and create a solution for local families.

We got in touch with Valencia Forest School and started our training to become official L3 Forest School Guides. At the heart of our project is the Forest School but our desire to provide Forest School experiences to all the children of Vall led us to create a project that can benefit all.

We connect children with nature, offering them an optimal environment to learn the English language in an fun and experiential way. The Forest School methodology promotes holistic development, resilience, confidence, autonomy and creative capacity. The programs we offer are designed to strengthen bonds with the natural environment.

The growing Alzina team are an experienced group of educators and professionals who are passionate about the outdoors and inspiring the next generation. We are one of the first Forest Schools in Spain with qualified L3 Forest School Guides.
