OUR MISSION
To deliver quality educational experiences in nature, promoting life changing connections with the environment.
We connect children with nature, offering an optimal environment to learn the English language in an fun and experiential way. We follow the Forest School methodology which promotes holistic development, resilience, confidence, autonomy and creative capacity. The programs we offer are designed to strengthen bonds with the natural environment and their community.

Project Introduction
Our inspiration is the international Forest School model. We connect the global and the local world through the use of the English and Catalan languages. Our educational strength is the learning of skills through the forest. Nature is not a mere backdrop, but an essential part of the methodology, objectives and educational values.
Anxiety about climate change is beginning to have a negative impact on the mental health and life attitude of today's youth. We want to participate in the hope of a future where the planet is a habitable place and where the human species prioritizes a respectful relationship with nature.
Forest Schools are recognized in the United Kingdom and Scandinavian countries, among others, and receive public subsidies. In the international field of educational research, the Forest School methodology is beginning to take a place in the curricula of regulated education. The education of the future must be rethought based on ecology because it is plausible to think that the future of humanity will depend on the role, awareness and relationship that today's generations are able to establish with the natural world.
Project Alzina offers a number of projects to local children from a daily Forest School and regular Forest Club to International Summer Camps, Community Groups and a range of workshops/ courses for all.
WHY DO WE NEED THIS PROJECT?
+ Society is largely disconnected from the natural world and humanities impact on it, we aim to inspire the next generation of the Vall to embrace a sustainable way of living and caring for the natural environment. Awareness of what we eat, how it is grown and our ability to work with natural resources are skills and knowledge that need to be passed down through communities.
+ The Vall de LLémena is experiencing a moment of growth and is increasingly attracting young families who are looking for new rural lifestyles. There is currently a lack of local educational provisions for children and young people. We provide the opportunity for our youth to socialise and develop in this wonderful natural framework.
+ The time that children and young people currently invest daily in journeys to get home or for extracurricular activities is something that parents also want to reduce. Consequently, a solid, competent, innovative educational offer aligned with the values of families in the valley will respond to a need that already exists.

THE ENVIRONMENT
Meaningful Connections
Forest School's basic principles are the promotion of resilience in the natural environment, creative thinking and the promotion of sustainable relationships with the natural and animal environment.
SKILLS FOR LIFE
Self Development
Project Alzina provides an emotionally safe and prejudice-free space in which each children spend time according to their own interests, needs and rhythms in extraordinary natural environments.
Programs are centred around personal development and emotional intelligence fostering independent creative and resilient learners. Programmes are bi-lingual giving children the opportunity to become confident when learning and using English language, a valuable life skill for the future.

Our Projects
We have a number of projects that serve different ages. Our daily Forest School and Forest Club is at the heart of the project as we work towards providing a services and events that are free for local families.
